What kind of organization is HSF?
HSF is a non-political and non-profit organization established and administered by the board of directors. All people involved in this organization are volunteers who their only motivation is providing Heathen youth with better chances for a post high school education.

What is the Heathen Scholarship Fund Mission Statement?

Through this scholarship, HSF seeks to identify and encourage talented, yet financially less fortunate Heathen students and children of Heathens, and help them to reach their highest professional potentials.

Who Provides The Funds To HSF To Be Awarded?

The HSF raise's money through accepting donation from individuals or corporations on a voluntary basis. The donations are solicited through personal contacts and advertising our missions and goals and fund raising events.

Who Can Receive This Scholarship?

Students in the last year of high school (pre-college level) or those currently enrolled in the first, second or third year of an undergraduate program (BS Degree) in colleges and universities are eligible to apply. The applicants MUST be in high academic standing and provide documents to show the clear and un-met financial needs. The recipients or their parents must be Heathen. The recipients must maintain a high grade point average. Both male and female students are equally eligible to apply. 

How Can I Help?

There are many ways you can help teh Heathen Scholarship Fund:
1. Individuals can donate money to the scholarship at any level they desire.
2. Bussiness owners can become a HSF corporate sponsor. They can also donate their product/services to HSF. HSF will auction the donated valuables on-line or at its fund-raising events.
3. Individuals can get involved in helping the board in every aspect of administration including (but not limited to) fund-raising committee (in your area), selection process, spreading the word or by sending us ideas and feedbacks.

What field of the studies this scholarship supports?

Students in all the areas of science, medicine, engineering, art, law and social sciences are equally eligible for the scholarship provided that the applicants meet the criteria and provide the required documents.

Where do the studies take place?

All of the schooling must take place at an accredited institution.

How long is this support going to last?

This scholarship is awarded for one-quarter and is renewable to a maximum of three times for an individual. The renewal is not automatic and students must apply on annual basis and no preference is given to the previous recepients of HSF

How much is the amount of the support?

That has yet to be determined.

How Many Students Receive The Scholarship Each Year?

This year will see 1 scholarship awarded for January 2005.

Who Administers The Fund?

The fund is adminstered by the HSF's board of directors.

How Does One Apply?

Eligible students may apply for HSF Scholarship by sending their application to:

Applicants must fill out the application form (please email us for the application form here) and enclose the following documents and mail it to the above address. The required documents are:


1. Application form  **NOTE**
2. A short statement to justify the applicant's eligibility (one page maximum) The statement must be written by the applicants.
3. A document that shows the applicant is currently enrolled in a college or university, a Senior highschool student must provide proof of admission into a four-year program in a credited college or university. This requirement for high school seniors should be provided before the fund is transferred to the recipient account.
4. A record that shows good academic standing of the applicants. copies of the performance report, issued by academic institutions each semester could be sufficient.
5. A copy of the first page of the applicant's birth certificate.

6. The applicant must provide appropriate document to show financial status of the family. Usually a copy of the past years tax return fulfills this requirement.
   
7. Each candidates must write an essay (500-700 words) on a subject of their own choosing. The topic must first be emailed to the HSF for approval. The essays will then be judged by a panel of HSF members. You may email topics to HSFund@gawab.com . new email address**NOTE**

What About Graduate Students

Graduate students regardless of the place or the area of study are eligible to apply for HSF Scholarship, but Pre-Grad students take precedent over all Grad students.

What About Studying Abroad?

Students who are studying outside of the USA will be taken into consideration on a per case basis..
